Download App Source Code

To download source, regular users need the relevant Pro or Ultra benefit and edit permission for the Project. When inspecting another user's Chat, admins download the latest completed backup listed under Sandbox Sync versions. The .tar.zst archive contains recovery data such as the workspace, sessions, and memories. Backup downloads work while the runtime is offline and do not start or connect to a sandbox. Contents reflect the last successful sync.

Open the Project;
Open Code;
Click Download in the upper-right corner. If your view shows a Files list, you can also click the download icon next to Project;
Wait for the archive to download.

For regular users, the download contains source code from the current sandbox in a .zip file. The archive excludes the dependency directory node_modules, the Next.js build directory .next, Git metadata .git, Python virtual environments .venv / venv, and the runtime cache .runtime. Install dependencies and rebuild the Project before running it locally.

Before downloading current source code, wait for active Chats to finish and confirm that Preview shows the intended version. Configure environment variables and third-party keys securely in the new runtime; never commit keys to the source repository.

For regular users, if the download button is missing, confirm that the Project's runtime is available, you are not in a read-only share, and your Plan includes source download under More > Settings > Plan.
