Kiln-Fired Porcelain Studio
Paint a piece of porcelain and fire it in the kiln. Choose a vessel — meiping, tea bowl, or jar — then glaze it by hand with three brush widths and four glazes, from sky celadon to oxblood. Then choose how the kiln burns: gentle oxidation, smoky reduction, or a long wood firing. Every one of those choices feeds the firing, so the piece that comes out is shaped by exactly what you painted and how you fired it. Watch the flames move across the glaze, then take the finished piece home as an image or share it to the community and compare colors with other firings.
