Book of Unwritten Futures
The Book of Unwritten Futures is an immersive web-based interactive artwork centered on an ancient, unfinished fairy tale book. Visitors turn yellowed illuminated pages — each bearing a medieval manuscript illustration and handwritten fairy tale text — until the story grows incomplete and asks them to choose what happens next. AI generates five illustrated continuation branches in the style of Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac; the visitor's choice becomes the new reality and the book continues from that timeline indefinitely. Turns pages with mouse drag, touch swipe, or optional MediaPipe hand gestures. Generates new pages using AI story and illustration generation. Displays an always-visible webcam preview with hand landmark overlay in gesture mode. Renders a candlelit medieval library environment with floating dust, firelight, and bookshelves.
