FamilyFund is a parent-controlled finance education platform that transforms abstract money concepts into hands-on learning. Parents create child accounts matched to each kid's age (Simple/Standard/Advanced complexity), schedule real-time allowance deposits, and oversee a simulated stock market where children practice saving and investing without real risk. Kids can choose from real companies and kid-friendly fictional stocks, watch their portfolio performance over time, and learn that index funds outperform individual stock-picking through actual simulation data. A full-screen Tax Lab mode guides older kids through filing a simplified mock tax return based on the income and gains they earned in the simulator, covering wages, capital gains, dividends, and deductions in plain language. Parents control withdrawal features with adjustable approval thresholds, letting teens request real-money payouts up to their available balance while maintaining full oversight. The app doubles as a real-world wallet reference, with large balance displays designed for in-store purchase decisions alongside parents.
